Spicy Prawns with Sesame, Cucumber and Carrot Salad

Ribbons of fresh and pickled vegetables in a miso dressing with spicy crunchy prawns and sesame seeds.



  • 1kg julienned carrot
  • 1kg julienned cucumber
  • 200g chopped spring onion
  • 1kg daikon, julienned, pickled and drained
  • 100g white miso paste
  • 30ml mirin
  • 60ml rice wine vinegar
  • 100ml peanut oil
  • 30ml sesame oil
  • 2kg frozen I&J Double Crunch Spicy Prawns   
  • 60g black and white sesame seeds


1. Combine carrot, cucumber, spring onion and daikon in a bowl.
2. Add miso paste, mirin and rice wine vinegar into a blender. Combine well and slowly add peanut and sesame oil to emulsify.
3. Cook frozen I&J Prawns following packet directions.
4. Dress the salad. Served topped with prawns and garnish with sesame seeds.
